What We Offer

Burial Services

There are typically two service options available when burial is chosen:

Traditional Burial. This service option usually consists of embalming, a period of visitation or viewing, a funeral service, and a brief committal service in the cemetery.

Direct (or Immediate) Burial. This option may not require embalming. With Direct Burial, a cemetery interment is conducted shortly after death and no public services of any kind are organized by the funeral home.

As our funeral home defines it, pre-planning and pre-funding a funeral are two aspects of a single process called pre-arranging.

Pre-planning involves: 1) recording biographical information eventually used for official paperwork and newspaper publications; 2) recording an individual’s preferences for eventual services; and 3) assembling an itemized cost that reflects an individual’s service choices.

Pre-funding is formally setting aside funds now to pay the eventual funeral costs, after they have been itemized during the pre-planning step.

Our funeral home makes complete pre-arrangements (pre-planning and pre-funding) for individuals many times per year. If you prefer to pre-plan without pre-funding, however, you are welcome to do so.

There are usually three service options available when cremation is chosen:

Full Service Cremation. This is similar to a Traditional Burial in that an embalming, visitation or viewing, and funeral service all take place before a cremation is conducted. After services and cremation occur, the cremated remains may be kept by an individual, interred in a cemetery or placed in a columbarium niche, or scattered (with the permission of the relevant landowner).

Cremation with Memorial Service. This option may not require embalming. Once cremation is complete, a visitation period followed by a memorial service are held. After services conclude, the cremated remains may be kept by an individual, interred in a cemetery or placed in a columbarium niche, or scattered (with the permission of the relevant landowner).

Direct (or Immediate) Cremation. This option may not require embalming. With Direct Cremation, a simple cremation is conducted shortly after death and no public services of any kind are organized by the funeral home. After cremation, the remains may be kept by an individual, interred in a cemetery or placed in a columbarium niche, or scattered (with the permission of the relevant landowner).

We frequently attend to details for individuals who pass away or reside out-of-state, whose funeral arrangements call for services or interment in our local area.
